Took advantage of the left-over cake pops from my son's birthday to play around with some presentation ideas...
I found all sorts of packs of cloth flowers with little holes in the middle at Hobby Lobby. I have no idea what they are intended for, but I knew what I could use them for, so I bought a pack to experiment. They make for a cool design around a hole in a stand. You can also slide them up the stick to the base of the pop so that the
pop is like the center of a flower. I did this and took a picture, but
seem to have deleted it. Whoops. Anyway, here's a picture of 2 flowers together on the stand...
There are all sorts of cool stickers with clear backgrounds out there these days. If you do scrap booking sorts of crafts, you certainly know this, but it was news to me. Anyway, I thought they were cool, so bought some to make tags with, but turns out a lot of them are too big for tagging a cake pop.
In the meantime, all the white sticks in the birthday cake display were bugging me yesterday for some reason. (Maybe because the pops were too spread out) So I got to wondering what I could do to adorn sticks, and the idea of using these stickers came to me. I like the effect. (The one in the background has a sticker of a hanging ornament that extends along most of the stick, but you can't really tell in this picture...
Have also collected other goodies recently that I haven't had a chance to experiment with yet. Along the lines of a non cake pop item to throw into a display for interest and balance, I picked up some fun stuff in the floral dept of Hobby Lobby the other day at 50% off. I can't wait to play around with them! I figure the silver could go in one of my silver on white pops arrangements, the red with any red on white arrangement, the gold with gold on white, etc... (You get the idea)
I also picked up some more mini ornaments to tie into bows on the sticks and stickers to make tags with. I have a few ideas for using some of the ornaments in displays as well. We shall see.
And with that, I say to you, "a bientot"!
